Sound Of Nature…
WARNING : This is just a piece of comment what I thought of posting for this story of DV… It might be a piece of non-sense for you… Read at your own risk… Well again all relevant data’s are cross verified twice.Music…wow…almost everyone like one or other form of it. While listening, to some we tap the feet, to some we shake our hip, and for few we close our eyes. So what’s music? Nothing but sound wave right… Again sound wave in the sense is basically vibration right. Vibration is the final thing you can think of for any thing in this universe. Right from light to sound to atom everything is vibrating in certain pattern though they may appear physically stationary. Even every molecule, cell, and organ in our body has its own pulse of life, like a hum or a buzz, and can be literally moved or changed by other sounds. We are very often told that the hearing range of human being is 20Hz to 20KHz. But it has been recently proven that the presence or absence of very high frequency has a measurable effect on their psychological reaction (hypersonic effect). Thus sound may initiate a variety of autonomic responses and hormone releases, which completely change our physical state of being even if the sounds around us are not loud; our body absorbs them, whether or not we notice.
Let me start with snakes. In childhood if you are born and brought up in village or kind of remote place, have your mom or dad or grandparents ever told you not to whistle at night? Well I was told so many times. When I ask why…the answer is SNAKES will come. I thought that’s some non-sense thing to make me frighten and so that I will not whistle. Now technically speaking by now we all know that snakes doesn’t have ears… but they do have a bone called the quadrate under the skin on either side of the head which focuses sound into the cochlea. Their sense of hearing is most sensitive to frequencies around 200–300 Hz. It has been shown to respond to airborne vibrations as well as ground vibrations. Normal frequency of the human whistle is about 500 – 1.5KHz depending on the intensity and record breaking whistle by human is of 160dB, quiet to make you deaf. This is the same whistling technique, which is used to train dogs with Dog’s whistle and dolphins too. Moreover each dolphin learns its own signature whistle from its mom. So in human terms, when they greet each other, they include not just a “hello” but their name as well. Next time dont whistle at night. Snakes may interpret that you are asking a kiss and may come to give u one. To read more on this click here
Well how about something human? One interesting fact that the origin of swaras gives us is that they were derived from Mother Nature Herself! The tonal quality of each note is associated with the call of a specific animal or bird, as listed below:

Well we all might have heard that Sahana heal the body of mild ill-health, Todi relieves severe sinus headaches, Ananda Bhairavi is useful in reducing high blood pressure, Shankarabharanam is good for mental illness, the raga Amirtavarshini brings on rain. Why wont it rain with khamboji or sindhu bhairavi. Again point to be noted; music is just another form of vibration, which is pleasant in a way or so. But is it really possible to bring rain by Amirtavarshini? YES. Its possible provided some could sing it how it is meant to be (call it Perfection). Before seeing how possibly the Amirtavarshini raga could bring rain, a few words about artificial rain (You know how it rains rgt? J).
Artificial rain is produced by spraying clouds with substances like Silver Iodide (costly) or cheaper ones like solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) or even finely powdered Sodium Chloride. The water vapor in the cloud does not condense to liquid water. The super cooling gets disturbed by spraying the cloud with the chemicals mentioned above, using a small airplane for the purpose. Basically there will not be hot air to cause both Convective precipitation as well orographic precipitation and thus rain.Worldwide, 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas are wasted every year. Does it sound irrelevant? What amount of heat a sound wave can carry? Run your imagination high and come to a conclusion. Now what ever you thought, will be wrong. Have you ever heard of thermoacoustic liquefaction? It is the process in which heat is converted into sound waves and then the hot sound wave energy converted to cold refrigeration. Well bit confusing na? Read it here fully.
Astronomers discovered in the 1970s that the vast reservoirs of gas located in galaxy clusters (massive groupings of hundreds or thousands of galaxies) glow brightly in x-rays. This suggested that the gas should be cooling and contracting as it radiates its energy away. But in 2001, new observations failed to find the expected pools of cool gas, puzzling astronomers. One possible explanation for the heating came in 2003, when the Chandra X-ray Observatory saw enormous ripples (spanning many thousands of light years across) in the gas inside the nearby Perseus galaxy cluster. The sound waves were thought to be generated by an ‘active’ galaxy at the core of the cluster that was spewing jets of radiation and matter into its surroundings – the result of a ravenous black hole at its center. Jeremy Sanders and Andrew Fabian, both at the University of Cambridge in the UK, had Chandra stare at the cluster core for a total of more than 10 days to reveal fine details. Based on the strength of the brightness variations produced by the sound waves, the researchers estimate they are providing as much energy as many billions of Suns – about the level needed to keep the gas from cooling. If interested you can read here further.
So the point is sound can carry heat is proved. Now think? Is it not possible that the vibration produced by singing the Amirtavarshini raga to the perfection have the capability to penetrate the clouds as a warm sound wave, which can produce rain? To prove few things we need perfection it seems. In today’s material world I don’t think anyone will sing Amirtavarshini with real intension for rain, with the body and mind in sync. Rather they will sing for such a publicity stunt only.
Now lets gets into sound and spirituality. As I said every molecule in our body have own pulse, though they are very much different generally when compared from person to person. But as a group there exist some common vibration. In the sense MEN in general have something common with respect to their body rhythm and WOMEN too have something in common with respect to their body rhythm. Consider the mantras, whether its in Hinduism, Islam or Christianity. They all are not just one liner (though some may… like OM or Gayatri mantra) whose effect cannot be realized just by once. You have to chant it properly (Again to the perfection) say some 1000 times on daily basis so that you will realize its power in long term. It is said that ladies should not chant Gayatri Mantra. Why so? Simple the vibration it creates within oneself when properly chanted is not good for them as their body’s natural vibe and this may result so. It’s like the reason why the soldiers are asked to break their step when they cross a bridge. Because the vibration with which they march ma match the resonance frequency of the bridge thus collapsing the bridge. Now for few things it can be told, “not to do” only. Well if you want proof well they can experiment themselves. It’s like telling a child “this is fire. It will burn”. But still the child doesn’t know what fire from the words until it touches one time to feel it for self.
Another interesting aspect of sound (waves/vibration) is in the area of telepathy. In all the stories we have heard from our childhood we must of come across this kind of incident. Like sage’s and rishi’s talking to someone, the communication mode between sithar’s. If whales can communicate by telepathy, why can’t humans? You know, when u can control the mind, the miracle’s it can do are unbelievable. But having the control is no damn easy task. There has been lot of experiments going on till now in this telepathy regard. The human brain emits magnetic waves, which can be intercepted easily with the technology available now. But the wave from normal mind is not so powerful to span distance of miles across. Dr Mario Varvoglis of the Institut Metapsychique International in Paris has since the late 1970s used the Galvanic Skin Response Detector (a machine that detects physiological changes) in experiments similar to Rhine’s. Varvoglis claims that during “sending periods” (when an attempt is being made to mentally send a message), the GSR levels are higher in the receiver than during “relax periods” (when no attempt is being made).
Varvoglis maintains that this indicates that the body may be receiving a message, but the brain is unable to pick it up unless the psychological conditions are perfect. Furthermore, Varvoglis argues that when a dream-like state is induced in a receiver (in what is called the Gansfeld state), a statistically significant better performance in the card guessing task results from most subjects - beyond chance. (Now tell the truth how many times you have dreamed of something that happened the very next day or so?)
Science cannot completely rule out such unusual forms of human communication. As we learn more about the brain, perhaps we will one day uncover the full extent of our brain’s communicative ability. Perhaps we do have some ability of which we are now totally unaware. Perhaps we are now incapable of utilizing this ability, but if the precise conditions emerge, the ability will emerge. We have to first accept the fact that TRUTH does exist rather beyond the point of proof.
You can read the interview with Varvoglis here. In fact this was very interesting read.
How about some lightning fact? I always thought what’s the use of khumbha in the top of the temple. Well I did managed find the answer. The reason is simple. They are always sharp pointed and 99% of the time metal esp if temple is very famous it will be gold. So what’s inside that khumbha made me think. It’s nothing but millets. With all these together what they do? Simple they act as a lighting arrester, safeguarding the temple from lighting and destruction hazard. The millet is a very good in providing the earth. Actually there is a process in preparing that. What for kumbabhishegham then? Well all equipment needs furbishing at sometime right, that’s why!
Well coming to the final point of CONCH, first some interesting facts about conch. In a thesis submitted to The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America the Spectral analysis shows a strong fundamental frequency and five overtones. The X-ray tomography pictures reveal the shape and size of the duct, which has an exponential flare that gives the conch a characteristic timbre and allows its sound to project over long distances…. well this one redg conch can be another post..Not now..very tired
OK. Let me finish it with some fun fact and its reasoning. Have you ever thought why girls especially girls in southern India use turmeric when they bath? (I don’t know whether anyone doing so now bcos I don’t peep into others bathroom :-)) I bet 90% will end up telling any one of the thing below.
1. They are very good antiseptic (well then why male cant use it?)
2. They stop the growth of hair (well point accepted)
But is that all?… One more reason is (of course this is very vital) that, we usually say the word blushing in context with girls only and not to boys. So next time if you happen to meat a girl who use turmeric make her blush and see the difference yourself. It adds up beauty and extra charm to their face. Now don task me whether I have seen it.
There are many things told by our forefather’s forefather’s forefather, which could be hard for us to accept/believe now. Many things told by them are accepted in their days as such considering their position; though they had a valid reason for their claim it’s never passed on to all. For some reason or other it’s always almost hidden. But one of the greatest capabilities of the human mind is the art of questioning. HOW and WHY? The urge to ask thy made this human race what they are today. Well today we speak about Internet and its revolution, telecommunication and satellites, etc. But are we really that advanced when compared to our ancestors? I always feel its not so. Whether it’s a comparison with the epic period or Greek or Egyptians or our own Harappa civilization, what all I can say is what WE, the present human spices know is nothing and what is unknown is everything.
