Find the joy in your LIFE!

March 6th 2008 in Inspirational, Its all abt relation, movies

Yes you guessed it right. Its about the movie ”The Bucket List”. After catching up with few people in the coffee shop myself and vivek came back. I know vivek downloaded the DVD version and first I told him ”It’s kinda movie that one should watch in theater alone”. But then when he asked me today ”Shall we see ’Bucket List’ ”. I couldn’t resist. I am not going to give any review about it and i am sure i will fail miserably in explaining or try shedding light about what the movie can make you to realize. Its not some nail biting thriller nor a hi-fi sci fiction. Its about something we all know well and something that one day will happen for sure but hardly speak about it until we realize its time to kick the bucket. One scene which really impressed me a lot in the movie is what Freeman tell about death to Nicholson at the top of the pyramid.

Freeman: ”The ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls reached the entrance to heaven, the gods would ask them two questions. Their answers determined if they were admitted or not.”

And then Freeman asks Nicholson the 2 questions.
1. Have you found joy in your life?
2. Has your life brought joy to others?

This movie sure does goes into my collection. Its something which i would love to watch over and over again. So much thought provoking especially to a person with chaotic soul like me. But it is not just the movie which made me to think so philosophical. Just 2 days back i hit upon this video. Before you die your whole life flashes in front of you, make sure it is worth watching. I feel there is nothing much better than finding the joy in your life and bringing joy to someone’s life could make it worth watching.

amazing video. truly inspiring!

and about the questions that freeman asks:
how do we define joy? from experience, i’ve seen it to be only momentary. is it the summation of various moments, is it the path of pursuit of what means a great deal to us or is it both and much more?
ur thoughts….?
