If you want to Fly…
No.. I am not going to right about our fantastic snow stormi Norway trip in search of (Northern)lights nor i am going to right about how i managed to see the movie “Man On Wire” 15 times in 3 days without getting the slightest feel of getting bored. This is “Fly” stuff is something more… “That was F***ing awesome”, how many times did i told? I dint had the count though. 2008 was pretty bad and 2009 will be worst. Come one guys, optimism is good, pessimism is bad but being realistic will save a lot. If its going to be worst, So what? Nothing, We have to keep moving. In a way i am so happy to go through this so called *greatest economic depression*. Yeah when i get old i too need some stories to pass on you see (I still remember how my grand dad used to say about WWII, Indian independence etc etc etc just because i was not born at that time) . “When going get tough, tough get going” (I believe directly or indirectly everyone is affected and if you are the one who is NOT at all affected, you are a lucky b***** then). And here we are in the great great 2009. The best part of the worst year is 2009 will be the best year for travel. So will meet you around the corner. Though these pending bills are killing me right now, there is/must be a way around. If you want to fly you can but how far will you go for to achieve that? Me trying to get rid of my bills also seems to be testing my limits of *How Far?*.
PS: About “Man On Wire”, its quiet easy though to say the (real)story in one line. “A man walked on tightrope between the twin towers in NY sometime back”. That’s it. But is that all the movie is? Watch it. I have already ordered my DVD.
May be with something better next time. Nowadays i have become so bad at time management which left me saying “I dont have time”. Till then keep your chin up!
And for all those who are faint-hearted here is a glimpse of how Helsinki streets are usually. I cant wait for summer. Thanks to Karthick for taking the video.
PSS: You have to actually see their faces. Such a beautiful expression in sync with the flow of music. Do they bother recession? Hell NO. This music you know, its so so so contagious that you can’t escape. In fact i have dozens and dozens of video’s like this taken in Helsinki but couldn’t find time to upload. I have even interviewed one such group which lasted almost 2 hours. One strong point they made about what they don’t like about playing in streets is “Some throw the money as if we are begging but we would appreciate rather someone who just appreciate”. From then on… Not only this, in spite of being such a cold cold place people are always engaged with something. Have you seen someone jogging @ -10? Here you can see and i have been trying to start my jogging for the last 1 month, no luck till today. Anyway place, weather doesn’t matter to me. I love winter as equally as i love summer just like how good and bad could be.
